Scheduling posts
I want to be able to schedule a post on Dreamwidth, but it doesn't have that feature. However, it does have post-by-email, which gives me this workaround!
- Create an empty Gmail account
- Install the Boomerang for Gmail Chrome extension
- When prompted, give it rights to do whatever it wants with this email account. This is why I created an empty account instead of using my real one!
- Setup my new email address and pin in the DW Email Posting config page.
- Go to Pin Usage Examples to get the new to: address that includes the pin.
- In Gmail, compose an email to that address, which the title and content of the scheduled post.
- Click "Send Later", chose the time I want it to post, and hit "confirm".
Et voila! A scheduled post! Like this one!
EDIT: There were some random newlines in here. I clicked 'Disable auto-formatting' and saved and they went away. So, guess I have to figure out how to make that my default, or to enable it from within the email.
EDITEDIT: If I start and end with <rawcode> it gets rid of the random line returns. Hooray? I wish I could just use the formatting tools in the gmail compose window, rather than having to type out html.
